When you think of investing, you probably have a horrible flashback to high school. Investments don’t have to just be in a stock or that sweet time share in Boca Raton. There are many investments that you can start making right now, and those will be the ones that make all of the difference. Some of them won’t even cost you a dime. Pretty sweet, right?
Your best investment, yourself
Invest in yourself girl! Nothing is as amazing as you are. You probably haven’t even tapped into your potential yet! You can become an investment just by doing one thing that is bettering you. This can be learning a new skill, taking that Orange Theory class, or even just learning the importance of the word “no”. Self care is so hyped up right now, but it isn’t all about “treating yourself”. True self care is making sure that each and every day of your life is better. The standard quality of life has became pretty bleak, honestly. I know so many people who are just going through the motions, and not living their life. It’s 2018, let’s take back control!
Invest in your education
Education has always been something that I desired. Maybe it is my desperate need to be the trivia champion of the world, or it could be my family’s influence. Who knows! There are so many amazing resources that have allowed you to get an education no matter your schedule. There are also tons of options to make education more affordable. If you are not a fan of a traditional education, then take some free courses online. Not only can you master a skill you already know about, but you can also learn a new one. The way that the world is evolving right now, we will have to be masters of….well….everything soon!
Investing in relationships is essential
This is coming from someone who had to learn this the hard way. I saw so many relationships that I was passionate about just go down the drain. It was probably a combination of faults on both parties, but I know for sure I was not giving what I could. I’ve been taking the time to focus on who I want in my life, and making an effort to stay in contact with those people. A relationship does not have to be romantic. It can be family relationships, and even friendships as well. While you cannot make every relationship perfect, at least you know you tried, right?
My favorite investment? TRAVEL
I seriously love to travel. Not only do I enjoy the whole packing process, but there is something so exciting about going somewhere new, or a place that you love. Traveling is good for your soul. When I am having a bad day, stressed out, or in a weird place, I get out of town. While traveling to incredible destinations is always preferred, it could just be a town away. I find that traveling helps to clear my mind, and basically acts as a reset. Something important to remember is that travel does not have to be expensive. If you plan correctly, you could be going on an incredible trip sooner than you think.
Since I’m on the subject of investing in travel, get yourself some good luggage. It will last you a long time, and I really use my luggage, all the time. Travel should be fun, and you shouldn’t be worrying about zippers, security, or anything else. My biggest tip is to invest in experiences, not things. It is always better to enrich your life in any way that suits you.
