5 Wardrobe pieces that I cannot live without

I am not going to lie, I am pretty basic when it comes to my standard clothing choices. There are a few pieces that I really love to wear, and I find ways to mix those into different outfits. Affordable fashion has always been so much fun to find, but it is usually trendy. Sometimes you can stumble upon some incredible items, and I have been lucky enough to do just that. I am breaking down my five favorite items, and how I pair and wear them!

This wouldn’t be a wardrobe staples post without a trench coat.

Jackets are by far my favorite clothing item. Not only does it make me feel more put together, but I can usually have quite a bit of fun with jackets. While I love a crazy jacket (just wait!), nothing is as classic and essential as a trench. They are an essential for travel because of the various situations you can wear them. If it is raining, then they protect your outfit and help keep you dry. They are light enough to wear in those weird transitional months, and easy to pack as well. I picked this one up from Forever 21 a few years ago, and it has served me well.

Cinderella had a perfect shoe, why can’t I?

I actually found these shoes by accident, if you can believe that. On one of my many strolls around Target last year I stumbled upon these. They are not the highest shoes, but I also am not a fan of tall shoes. They are a great shade of nude which works well with my skintone. The height is incredibly easy to walk, run, or play in. Plus, I love a lace up shoe! I actually purchased these when they were on sale, but they still carry them in Target stores and online.

Spend money on something, have it forever!

I recently just purchased my first EXPENSIVE designer handbag. I indulged and purchased a Saint Laurent Large Monogramme College Bag. Was it expensive? Yes, but I have not put it down a single time since I brought it home. Something can be said about buying an expensive purse, and that is that you are paying for quality. Plus, the buying experience was kind of awesome, it was definitely a big step in the adult world! This goes with everything I wear (basic witches not wanted!), and is great for the few times that I do dress up.

Black is the new black, don’t get confused.

I swear, nothing is as essential to my life as black denim. It dominates my daily wear, and it is timeless to me. I can dress it up, or I can dress it down, it is perfect! The pair I love are from Missguided, and are really high waisted, and that is my usual go-to style of denim, no matter the color. Slit knees offer up a really fun twist on the regular jean, but you cannot go wrong with a regular pair either. Great with heels, great with sneakers, and even better with flats. I think everyone has a pair of these in their wardrobe, but you can never have enough!

When it rains it pours…

We are entering the best time of year, fall! One thing that fall means around here is unpredictable weather! Is that such a bad thing? Not when you have a great pair of rain boots. I love my Hunters, but nothing tops my Bean Boots when it comes to fall and winter. They look cute with a bunch of different outfits, are comfortable to walk in, and probably more classic than a trench coat! If you live in or around the east coast, then you know these are a staple for pretty much everyone. I really prefer the original boots, but if you are just going for the style, there are some affordable options too.

When I visited my friends in CA, I wore them the entire time, haha. I still wear them all year round, even though it can get pretty cold here, I never spend too much time outside haha. I always feel super stylish in my trench coat too! Thanks for your comment!
