3 Ingredient Margarita
The rise of August leads us to believe that summer is over, but is it really? If you look at a calendar, summer isn’t technically over until August 22nd, and you need to live your best life! Personally, I am a snow lover, and I am anticipating a frigid winter. Some of my bartending friends will probably call me and say that I need more to my standard margaritas, but these are super easy to make. With just three ingredients, you can enjoy the flavors of summer. Find out how I make my favorite 3 ingredient margarita at home!
Here is what you’ll need:
Tequila: This really depends on your personal preference. I have always been a huge fan of Patron to not only sip, but also to mix with. Cheaper tequilas definitely have given me some rough days in my past, and coming up on thirty…I don’t need those kind of days. There are tons of types of tequilas, so whatever kind you want to put in your 3 ingredient margarita is completely up to you!
Liquor: Once again, this will change based on who you are talking to. From my time drinking margaritas, there seems to be three really popular choices. Triple Sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier. For my 3 ingredient margarita, I always use Cointreau, and I actually even use it in my mimosas as well. I find it to not be as sweet other options I have tried. I enjoy the bitter taste that it gives to my margaritas.
Juices: I mean, it is pretty obvious that you need lime juice, right? I really love the taste of lime, so I am a hoarder of limes. I know that I sound like a broken record, but however much lime you put into your 3 ingredient margarita is completely up to you. Also, I think is important to note that if you don’t like lime juice, you can really use anything you want.
Let’s make the best 3 ingredient margarita:
2 ounces of tequila
2 ounces of Cointreau (or your what ever you choose)
1.5 ounces of lime juice
Make the 3 ingredient margarita your own.
Switching up ingredients is going to make your recipe your own! This is the base of my 3 ingredient margarita, and it is really easy to expand upon as well. Add your favorite juices, liquors, or extras to make it unique to you. If you are looking for a sweeter margarita, you can add agave as well. To get your cup ready, squeeze one of the limes around your cup. Then you can dip the rim in some salt, and garnish with a lime, or any garnish of your choice! Personally, I am not a fan of salt, so I only add salt to half of mine!
