Meghan Used What?!
Thanks to my mother, I have been obsessed with the British royal family for as long as I can remember. So like most of the world, I was up at 4am, watching Meghan become a royal, and crying into my champagne while I wore my Halo pajama pants. While I was browsing the internet, I found a website that listed her makeup from her wedding. Do you know how excited I was that she and I both use the DIOR BACKSTAGE Contour Palette?! Where is my tiara? So, if it is good enough for the Duchess of Sussex, it is good enough for the rest of us?
DIOR BACKSTAGE Contour Palette
When the DIOR BACKSTAGE collection came out, it kind of threw me off to be honest. I’m used to Dior having packaging that is so luxurious, but this collection is different. With fashion weeks in full swing right now, this line was meant to be used behind the scenes! Dior says this is great for artists at the hottest shows of the season, and for the beginner in their room. I am definitely more on the “everyday” side of things. This palette is amazing because you can see everything through the clear packaging. It contains four shades. You get two highlight shades, and two contour shades.

The highlight shades have a great satin finish, and come in shades similar to that of what you would expect champagne and sand to look like. The deeper highlight option is almost too dark for me, but I love the lighter highlight. The two contour shades are quite interesting. The lighter contour is a cool tone brown. To be honest, if you have a deeper complexion, I’m not sure this would be great for you. I think with my skin tone, it shows up more. The deeper contour is a warm toned reddish brown. For me, this does not work as a contour shade whatsoever. As I do not have a deeper complexion, this may be great for darker skin tones? Leave me a comment down below if you know anything about that!
Alright girl, but what about the performance?
As per usual with Dior Beauty, it is amazing. I’m not just saying that because the price point is high, but the quality of product is that good. The highlighters are not blinding like I like, but they are amazing for everyday wear. Similar to the Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Trio, it is almost like a “lit from within” sort of deal. I do enjoy that they are not glittery, and look really natural. The contours are matte (which I love!), are incredibly fine. This makes them not only easily buildable, but also really easy to blend as well.
The powders are all quite long wearing, and even withstood an extremely hot tailgate over the weekend. My makeup still looked just as good as it did when I got home as when I left. I’ve also been loving to use the DIOR BACKSTAGE Contour Palette as an eyeshadow palette too. I’m a neutral gal, so it is perfect. Having it serve double-duty also helps when I travel! Overall, I think the amount of product you receive, the pigmentation, and the easy of use really make it worth it. At $45 for four different shades, and a luxury company, it is a great value. If you are into contouring and haven’t tried Dior, this is a great place to start!
Have you tried anything from the DIOR BACKSTAGE Collection?
