Foundation Favorites

If you did not know, I really love makeup. I am a full face kind of gal during the winter, and this is when my hunt begins. Since we have some crazy weather in the South, I have to circulate through some foundations! I have my top two ranging from pretty high priced, all the way down to drugstore. Which one is the best?

Best overall foundation: COVERGIRL Vitalist Healthy Elixir

Honestly, I cannot recall a time when I loved a COVERGIRL foundation. I experimented with them a lot when I was younger, but none of them seemed to work with my skin. As I have gotten older, my skin texture has completely changed. The winter is especially rough on my skin, and I tend to deal with some pretty severe dry skin issues. This foundation has seemed interesting to me since it came out, but I was definitely worried about the oiliness that I had come to know about COVERGIRL.

Boy was I wrong! Not only is this a perfect shade for my skin, but it also feels incredible. It gives me just the right amount of moisture for this weather, and I never look shiny or oily. I can easily layer this onto my skin for one application, or stack it up to get an even better coverage. This foundation actually makes my skin look like skin, which is important to me! I have been using this for quite a few months, and I can safely report that I have had no breakouts, which is a first for me! While this may not be great if you have oily skin, I think it is an incredible winter foundation for my dry skin family. It also comes with a pump, and a pretty nice glass bottle as well.

Foundation worth the hype: Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r

I was not too stoked on the Rihanna line at first. Celebrity beauty ranges don’t usually tickle my fancy, but I think Rihanna has changed my mind. While this shade is not exactly perfect for me, a little bronzer can fix me right up. First off, this packaging is completely flawless, and I think that has been proven on every page on the internet. This foundation is pretty amazing in that you can be dewy and matte at the same time. It gives a healthy looking appearance, and slightly more coverage than the COVERGIRL foundation.

The range for this foundation is also great, and has pretty much every color anyone would need. The foundation wears incredibly well, and for the coverage that you get with this one, it is incredibly light on the skin. This foundation is also amazing to layer. It is slightly dryer than the COVERGIRL, but it incredible when mixed in with other more moisturizing foundations. I sometimes mix this foundation in with my primer for a lighter application as well.
