I am a self proclaimed makeup lover. I find joy in going to Sephora and catching the best new products! With all of the new amazing 2018 releases, it is easy to forget about what is going on underneath. When you finally decide to love yourself without makeup, that is when you have really made it. I’m on a journey of “needing” less makeup, and I thought it would be cool to share the steps that I am taking towards that goal!
You look good without makeup!
The best you’ll ever look is just being yourself. No amount of makeup is going to make you ever look better than the way that you just do! The easiest way to make sure you look your best is to take care of yourself! Getting the proper amount of sleep is seriously easy, and makes such a huge difference in how your skin looks. Remember how your grandma always said that beauty starts from the inside? It’s true! In addition to getting enough sleep, you really need to be drinking enough water. Personally, I still have a hard time getting enough water, but I do have some tips that I use to get as much as I can. If you are looking for some easy ways to drink water, you can check that post out here!
Something that people forget about is dental health. Having bright, white teeth will instantly make you look better. Honestly, an electric toothbrush will change your life! Make sure you floss and use mouthwash too. It’s kind of like that great feeling after you leave the gym. You know that feeling!
Start taking care of your skin, now.
This is a tip that I wish I had cared more about when I was younger. Even though I understood that I needed to wash and moisturize, there is a lot of things that I was not aware of. Sleep, water, and alcohol consumption can have some really dramatic results on your skin. For example, if I go out one night, I can see it in my skin the next day. The first step to amazing skin is to once again….start from the inside. You can also take care of your skin with topical treatments as well. I am a self-proclaimed skincare junkie. Be sure to check out my skincare routine, but I also love to constantly try new products as well.
There are so many amazing masks on the market now, and they are really easy to use. My entire family are fans of masks, and I am currently on the hunt for the perfect mask. I think it also makes a huge difference when you have a certain regimen of products. Not only does it provide constant hydration, but there are tons of things that impact our skin that are beyond our control. Pollution and exposure are constantly coming for our skin, and we have to protect ourselves. It is also insanely important to exfoliate our skin. Dead skin can cause product buildup on our skin. If you aren’t doing some sort of exfoliation, your skincare is not doing what it needs to do. Plus, your skin can thrive without makeup adding blocking its health!
