As someone who practically glows in the dark from being so fair, I have tried just about every self-tanner there is. For what seems like a decade, I have been dedicated to St. Tropez. In fact, I think that is longer than any relationship I have ever been in. I’ve been noticing that there are newer formulas of self-tanners coming out, and that peaked my interest. While browsing Sephora, I came across the Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops. After months and what seems like countless applications, I’m finally ready!
Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops
I’ve always used a foam tanner as my main form of application. Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops were completely foreign to me, but they are basically another way of life now! Google became my best friend when it came to figuring tanning drops out. I am definitely not the best tanning applicator by any means! I initially went out with the purpose to buy the Tan Luxe drops. Once I saw that they were $60 dollars, and that I had no idea of drops were even my thing, I held off. The Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops come in at about $28 USD, and come in three shades. It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. The bottle contains about a 1oz of product. Even though I read how large the bottle was, it still seemed a little smaller to me. Anyway, I got over it!
How do you use tanning drops?!
So, to use the Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops, there are some instructions. As always, make sure that you are doing your pre-tanning routine. Shave at least twenty-four hours in advance, exfoliate, do the full routine. Drops are meant to be used with a moisturizer! I have no idea what will happen if they are used without one, and to be honest, I don’t want to find out. The smell is pretty much non existent. There is no guide color with the product, so keep that in mind. Make sure you are fully covering everywhere. You can add as many drops as you choose depending on the color you want. Make sure that you are adding that many drops to each body part!
So, this is how my experience went…
I’ve actually had the best overall tan with this product. I’ve used it a ton, and have not had one streak! It looks natural, and applying lotion all the time is going to give your skin the hydration it needs. Since I am not the most diligent lotion applicator, this is great! I chose the middle shade to start off with. Even if you are as fair as I am, I highly suggest this shade. I started off with two drops per body part, but the color was not what I wanted. It was there, but I needed a bit more. Five drops is about the perfect amount for me, and that is what I have been doing. I even can use this on my face without any breakouts! Yes!
As far as I know, this is only sold online. At least, I haven’t seen it in any stores around me. I think the price is pretty fair considering how long it has lasted me, and that is with multiple applications per week. If you are considering some of the more luxury tanning drops try the Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops first. Get a feel for them, and make sure the formulation is something that you enjoy!
