No Bad Vibes! How to increase your positivity.

We all have negative days, and that is part of life. As much as we all wish we could have a perfect life, we need to be realistic! This is not about pretending to be positive, this is about actually changing your attitude. Before seasonal depression kicks in for most of us, let’s fix this now! Being positive is contagious, and you can improve your life, as well as those around you. Without thinking about it, we can easily add some positivity into our life. Even if you do not think you can ever be a positive person, we can change that! Just keep reading!

Self reflecting to increase positivity

I know, self reflection actually sounds terrifying. We all have things that we do not like about ourselves, but everyone does. To be quite honest, sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can get better. This cause a lot of people to choose not to face their demons. Gratitude journals have become a popular thing recently. Why? Great question! Writing something down is always going to help you out. I have mentioned writing in my self care post, as well as my stress post. Getting out your negative thoughts can almost instantly relieve that pressure. If this seems like it could not help in anyway, then try it out. When you wake up, list five different things you are grateful for. This is almost essential if you are doing self reflection. Creating positivity is all about balancing the good with the bad. Self care is definitely part of creating a positive life for yourself. It certainly matters inside as much as it matters outside.

Your physical health can be impacted by positivity

I know, how many times can we talk about health? We can talk about it for days, because it is incredibly important. Our mental health can have a direct impact on our physical health. As I have said before, toxic relationships can harm us mentally and physically. Getting rid of those is definitely a big step in cutting off the negativity that we face on a daily basis. We all know that stress can cause physical illnesses. Complications can arise from putting too much on our plate. Our immune system can become weak which makes us more easily impacted by germs. This time of year is especially bad about germs circulating. We also have to think about our heart! While I am not talking about breakups in this post, I am definitely talking about how our heart can feel. Heart problems can lead to some very severe medical issues, and we want to keep those out of our lives as much as we can.

Owning your life!

We all have played the victim. I know that we all want some attention at time, and there is nothing wrong with that. As humans, we totally need attention, and it is normal. What we need to understand is we cannot always be that way. People are going through things that we may not understand, and we are going through things that others may not understand. Being responsible for your actions is a big step. It takes some self reflection to notice what we did wrong, and it also is important to be able to criticize ourselves. Another issue that we can face is situations from the past. It is pretty common to lay awake at night and think about things we could have done differently. What does worrying ever actually do? It causes us stress, unhappiness, and is normally a waste of our valuable time. Feeling emotions is completely normal, and in most times, this is the only way we can actually get over situations. I know it sucks, but it is actually going to help in the long run!

Let’s talk about our physical space!

On to some fun and exciting things! Let’s talk about decluttering. When my house is dirty or unorganized, it can consume my thoughts. I focus how cluttered it can be, but I am also not doing anything about it. Decluttering your space can increase the energy around your home. By not having issues literally starting at you, you can have more time to live your life. Plus, it is always good to have a clean and positive space to live in! Surrounding yourself with items that bring positivity into your life is always a great thing! I am not saying fill your home with crystals, but if those make you happy, go for it! I may or may not have a couple strategically placed around my home. If you already have a perfect organized home (lucky you!), then try listening to positive music, or include affirmation into your daily routine. There are quite a few podcasts that are great options for positive messages. Maybe taking time to listen to one a week is a way to start. We all know that I love podcasts, and I could listen to them all day long.

Share the positivity

As Buddy the Elf says, the best way to spread cheer is singing loud for all to hear. I know I left out the Christmas part, but it is not time yet! We are definitely products of our environment. Surrounding yourself with positive energies is going to be a great way to make your journey to positivity a little easier. We really do receive what we give out to the world, and that is a huge reflection when it comes to our attitudes. If I am around someone who is having a bad day, I will usually have a bad day. While most times we cannot fix someone’s mood, we can share the love or happiness that we have. Volunteering, reaching out to your friends, and many other simple actions can spread the joy. You can check your local newspapers for perfect ways to get involved, or just try and call those friends who live far away every once in a while. Oh yeah, call your mom!
