Yeah, I know. Another mask?! Well, this is something that I actually had not intended on purchasing, but after hearing the buzz about it, I had to. The Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask seems to be the must have mask of the summer. Is this something that needs to be on your beauty shelf?
Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask
So, just the name of this product sounds perfect for this time of year. The Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask is meant to deeply purify your skin, and diminish those pesky pores. What makes this a cold plunge is that it features peppermint, and that gives it this amazing cooling sensation. This is the first product I have ever tried from the Ole Henriksen brand, just so we are clear. This contains something called a Green Fusion Complex that is made up of Neem Seed Oil. Neem Seed Oil is great for detoxification, controlling oil, and reducing pores.
From what I have found out, this mask was directly inspired by treatments you would find at Scandinavian spas. As someone who has already been to Sweden this year, and is planning on going to Amsterdam before the year is up, clearly, I love Scandinavia! This is a clay mask which is not something I tend to go for. I much prefer a peel off mask for the simple point of satisfaction. This is also meant to help improve the circulation on your face. Is there anything this isn’t supposed to do?
That’s cool Ash, but do I need it?
If you are a mask lover like myself, I am going to say yes. On the other hand, if you don’t care too much about skincare, or you are not into minty items, maybe pass. I’ve been using this product for a few weeks, and I cannot say that it has made too much of a difference. I really love the feeling when it is on my skin, and it is so refreshing to use. Pores are not something that I really deal with too often, but it has been great as a deep cleansing mask. I love that it lathers up when I go to rinse it off with cool water. It also contains a slight amount of salicylic acid, which we know is my jam.

I use the Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask twice a week, and I leave it on when I am doing something around the house, or in the bath. It would be great if this mask kind of hardened up on your skin, which is what another review said before I purchased. I’m here to tell you that it has never hardened on me, ever. I do like how it feels otherwise, and the cooling sensation is almost necessary in this crazy heat we are having right now. It is a great turquoise color which matches the minty smell. It is not like a toothpaste mint, so don’t be afraid of that. I also love that this mask is cruelty-free as well. This is going to set you back about $36 bucks at Sephora or various retailers.
