If you know anything about skincare, then you have definitely heard of The Ordinary. I have talked about the foundations before. It is finally time to talk about the skincare products. Since these products just landed at Sephora, the hype is growing at a pretty rapid rate. I am a skincare junkie, and obviously had to see what these products were all about.
So, what’s this about The Ordinary?
The Ordinary is a love child from DECIEM. Their biggest goal as a company and brand is to provide quality skincare that not only is affordable, but is as progressive as others. Their tagline “Clinical formulation with integrity” says it all. The beauty industry is advancing so quickly, and some brands struggle to keep up with it. The Ordinary is anything but ordinary! Similar products can cost a ton of money, and DECIEM has become a game changer. Providing advanced skincare, an affordable price, and easily accessible? This is what the world has been waiting for.
The Ordinary: Acids
I have been a huge fan of Lactic Acids for a few years now, and they are one of my favorite skincare products. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% has become a staple in my skincare. This does come in two different intensities, so it is important to know your skin. The lactic acid exfoliates my skin, and helps with texture issues, pigmentation, and can help with scars from acne. The Hyaluronic Acid is also great for hydration.
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% is something that I knew I was going to have to pick up. I still deal with today. This is great for acne prone skin, but can actually work to improve your skin over time. This helps to exfoliate your skin which can eliminate your pores getting clogged, and reveals a brighter complexion. This product can be extremely drying, and really only needs to be used as a spot treatment.
The Ordinary: Hydrators & Oils
Hyaluronic Acid is something that you have probably been familiar with if you ever dealt with anti aging. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 not only is all about the hydration. The variety in molecule levels allows this to penetrate the skin, and really get down there and improve the level of hydration in your skin.
I have been loving The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA lately. This is amino acid based, and hydrates your skin, and it can also help fight age off. This can also reduce sun damage, allegedly. The sun is not something that I get into quite often due to some skin issues, so I cannot speak for that too much, but I love it for the moisturizing aspect. This is a silicone free moisturizer, and it is based on amino acids found in coconut-derived fatty acids.
The Ordinary: The rest of the collection
I knew I was going to have to pick up The Ordinary Buffet. This has been a product that I was reading on all of my favorite blogs, and it seemed right up my alley. Prevention is something that I have been focusing on hard lately, and I don’t think it is ever too early to start fighting the signs of age. This product is really lightweight, and it does not clog pores, which once again, is important to me. This has 11 amino acids that help your skin out, and contains hyaluronic acid to help with hydration.
This was just a random purchase, but I am pretty pleased with it so far. The Ordinary EUK 134 .1% is meant to bring the youth back to your skin, and is once again, an anti aging battle warrior. This is something that you cannot use with Vitamin C, Lactic, Glycolic, or Salicylic acids, but it works lovely with the Natural Moisturizing Factors moisturizer I mentioned earlier. This is more of a preventative action, but the cool thing is what it does. It eliminates free radicals in our skin, and turns them into water and oxygen, hello!
Vitamin C is also something I have mentioned in the past, and is always something I need to have in my skincare cabinet. The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% is a life saver for dry skin. I definitely suffer from dry skin this time of year, and you guessed it….it contains hyaluronic acid. If you didn’t know, HA attracts up to 1000 times its’ weight in water, and we all love hydration! This is a heavier serum, and it does take a little bit longer to absorb into your skin.
Have you tried anything from The Ordinary? What are your favorite products from the line so far?
