Travel Makeup: What I take
Deciding what to take when you travel is never easy. It is stressful to imagine what you want to wear tomorrow, let alone two weeks into the future. From traveling quite often, I have narrowed down what I take with me when I travel. One of the most important aspects of any travel makeup bag is having a primer. Not only is this going to make your makeup stay on better, but a good one makes such a difference. I love Tatcha The Silk Canvas! While it is not the ideal size, it is just so good! Next is finding a multipurpose foundation. The Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation lately. I can wear a light layer on my skin on days where I don’t need a lot of coverage, but I can also layer it up to get a better coverage for when I need it. Finding a great concealer is a task! The YSL All Hours Concealer is super light on my skin, but gives incredible coverage.
The Tarte x Aspyn Ovard Palette is such an amazing travel palette. Not only does it provide me with all of the eyeshadows I need, but it also has a blush and highlight in it as well. I can actually even do my eyebrows with it as well. The Revlon Colorstay Eyebrown Pencil is just as good as the high end ones that I have tried! I don’t always use powder, but if I don’t have it, that is when I need it! The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour is light enough to wear every day. It is great to keep your makeup in place, and helps everything blend great. The bronzer that I always take with me is the Tarte Park Princess because it is waterproof and doesn’t make my skin look odd.
What I have learned not to take
I think the biggest tip to take away from this is what you should not take. If you have new makeup, then you more than likely are not going to take it. I spent years packing bright lip colors, fun eyeshadows, and bright blushes. I can honestly say that I never wore any of those when I packed them. My makeup bag would be so heavy, no joke. When it comes to packing travel makeup, less is more. For me, I don’t wear too much makeup when I travel. This is mainly because I just cannot be bothered on vacation. Unless I am doing something where I may be photographed, it is rare that I wear any at all. So, in the spirit of beating a dead horse, make sure you know what you are doing on your trip!
