Violet Voss Fun Sized Mini Eyeshadow | Creme Brûlée
As someone who doesn’t typically wear too much eyeshadow, Violet Voss is a brand that I don’t typically lean towards. While I was browsing the Sephora website, I stumbled across the Violet Voss Fun Sized Mini Eyeshadow | Creme Brûlée, and I was immediately drawn to it. As you might know, I am a neutrals kind of girl, and it is incredibly rare for me to get out of that habit. I’ve heard amazing things about the Violet Voss eyeshadows for so long, and for $18 dollars, it seemed like a great deal to me!
What are you getting?
The Violet Voss Fun Sized Mini Eyeshadow | Creme Brûlée has 10 small eyeshadows in one easy palette. I do quite a bit of traveling, and I find that mini palettes are definitely something I lean toward. Also, since I’m not a heavy eyeshadow wearer, it makes more economic sense as well! This palette released as a set of four with the additional palettes contain more colorful stories. This palette contains a mix of matte shades and shimmery shades all in tones of brown.
The three matte shades are a cream shade and a peach shade. The dark brown on the top and the warm brown on the bottom lean a little more towards a satin finish on my skin but are definitely not as shimmery as the other shades in this palette. As for the more festive shades, there is a gold, copper, warm brown, champagne, taupe, and deep brown shade that almost has a hint of purple to it. There is also a mirror in the palette which is great for the affordable price. The packaging is a sturdy cardboard, but I would still be wary of damaging the product.
How did the palette perform?
I found the cream shade to be a little difficult to work with. It was a little chalky in my opinion, but the peach shade is beautiful! It blends out seamlessly, and it applies to the skin like butter. I could actually feel a difference in the shades when I touched them which is slightly disappointing. The real winners of this palette are all of the shimmery metallic shades. They apply on the skin beautifully and don’t have any annoying glitter to deal with. The satin shades also had different textures as well. The warmer brown was much softer and pigmented than the darker brown shade. The darker brown almost felt hard, and it was not easy to pick up pigment on my brush.
I think this palette is worth the $18 price point if you are a neutral wearer. Even in my collection, I don’t have a ton of metallic shimmers that I can wear. The quality of the metallic shades is great, but I wish the additional formulas were easier to work with. While I didn’t deal with any fall out on my actual eye, the palette did get kind of messy while I was using it. This is a warm-toned palette, and there are absolutely no cool tones in this. If you have a large collection of warm-toned palettes, I’m not sure you need the Violet Voss Fun Sized Mini Eyeshadow | Creme Brûlée. If you are trying to experiment with different formulas, then this might work for you.
