Winter can be a funny time when it comes to makeup. Sometimes my skin is so dry that I cannot even imagine wearing makeup, but if my skin is moisturized…slather me in a full face. I am constantly obsessing over skincare, but makeup and I definitely have our moments as well. Seeing what other people have in their makeup bags definitely feeds into my unquenchable thirst for…let’s call it knowledge, but it also gives me great ideas. If you are curious as to the products that I love and actually use, then keep reading!
Makeup Bag Staples
Revlon ColorStay Brow Pencil: This has been an interesting journey for me. I am an Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz kinda gal. One day, I ran out without notice, and had to run to Target to find what I could. Not only is this less than half of the price of the ABH, it works just as well. While I love the fine point, the Revlon has a pretty amazing angled pencil, and it comes with a brush on the end as well. The color works great with my red hair, and can definitely work for anything lighter than brown. It is a softer formula than ABH, but I am already used to it. I have gone through three since discovering how much I loved this product, so it is definitely staying around!
Okay, so I have three concealers that I use, and I have to list them all. I am sorry!
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: I am pretty sure that every single makeup lover has this in their collection. It is incredibly lightweight, has great coverage, and actually stays on your face.
Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer: If you are looking to completely eliminate something on your face, then this is what you need to find. I always have to order mine online. Apparently everyone where I live needs the lightest shade as well. This concealer also has great coverage, and lasts incredibly long too!
Dior Forever Undercover Concealer: This is probably my most natural, and most worn concealer that I use. The color match is so good on me, and it is incredibly comfortable on my skin. I sometimes deal with dry under eyes, but this concealer never settles into my fine lines, and it is waterproof too!
Makeup Bag Rotations
Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette: Y’all, no care, I am still loving this. The colors are really complimentary to my skin tone, and you already know that the Urban Decay shadows are some of the best! Oh, and these palettes last forever!
L’Oreal Lash Paradise: I am pretty specific when it comes to mascara. Either they are make my lashes too stiff, or they are so soft that they sink right back down. This adds volume and length to my lashes, and is the perfect mascara. It keeps my lashes looking stellar, but it is still easy to remove after the day is done!
Hello Fab Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer: You have probably have seen this on the blog somewhere, but I have to mention it again. I usually cannot stand moisturizers, but this has really changed my mind. It makes my foundation look incredible, and it has not broken me out, which is usually an issue that I have with primers.
Are we still all about that base?
CHANEL LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Sheer Colour: I love this powder because it contains SPF 15, which we all know is important. It is also so beautiful that I can wear this on top of anything that I choose, and it almost looks airbrushed, and it does not give me that powder feeling that some products can tend to do. If you are looking for a beautiful finishing powder, this one is highly recommended!
COVERGIRL Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation: This has been my jam for the past few months. I love the feeling that this foundation leaves me with, and the coverage is pretty impeccable too! Also, the price point is pretty killer, and I reach for this more often than some of my higher priced foundations as well!
FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation: First off, why are all of the brand names capitalized in this section? Is that weird to anyone else? I have also mentioned this in a previous post, but I will give a quick run down. It is just a tinge dry on my skin, but nothing that a primer or moisturizer cannot fix. The finish on this is gorgeous, just as everyone says. Definitely check this out in store if possible. The colors can be pretty tricky!
Day to Day Makeup Bag Swaps
MAC Cosmetics Boldly Bare Lip Pencil: When I feel the need to get my inner Kardashian on, then I pull out the nude lip liner. This works amazing with Velvet Teddy, which is one of my favorite lipsticks from MAC. This works really well with my lips, and I feel like the color suits my skin really well.
NYX Slide On Lip Pencil: These are some of the best lip liners that you can use, and they are so incredibly cheap. My go to red lip liner is Red Tape. It is a true red, and is one that I can wear alone. If you are an OG, then you know all about the Rimmel Provocalips in the shade Kiss Me You Fool. It is such an incredible red, and it stays on forever. I have gone to sleep with this on, and it looks like I had reapplied it….yeah.
