6 Christmas films to get you in the holiday spirit

Christmas films are one of the best parts of the holidays!

There is something about a Christmas film that really just makes the season seem real! I love them, and I actually have to tell myself not to watch them other times of the year. Expect the Grinch, I’ll watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas every single day of my life. As someone who is not a Hallmark fan, I prefer to stick with my absolute tried and true Christmas films! Hopefully, you can add these to your holiday watch list!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Yeah, I had to start with this one! I remember when I was young and watching the animated Grinch every single time it came on television. I’m old enough to remember a point where that was the only option we had! I love both of the Grinch films out there, and I’m pretty excited to watch the new one as well! Ron Howard’s version has one of my favorite Christmas songs too! I think we all know the story of the Grinch, right?

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

My family and I are huge fans of the Griswalds. It’s probably because we are very similar to them in our luck! This is another one of my Christmas films that I could watch anytime! I actually somehow own two copies of it, and I’m not complaining. It definitely leans more towards the adult end of the spectrum but is still a family-friendly option. Trying to plan the perfect holiday is always difficult, and the Griswalds handle it about as well as everyone can.

Love Actually

I really feel this movie on an emotional level. This movie drags so many memories out of me during this time of year, but that’s not a bad thing! It has all of your favorites, amazing storylines, and a young Hugh Grant, which is high on my list of priorities! Oh, and our dearly departed Professor Snape too! It’s usually on E! about a million times during the holidays, and is often on Netflix as well! There are tons of stories going on in this movie, and they are all intertwined together to create a movie that will never get old!

Christmas with the Kranks

This is another one of those movies that really describes my family. My grandmother has actually canceled a holiday to go on a cruise! I find the story to be really cute, and Tim Allen is always one of my favorites. The twists that happen in this movie are hilarious, and is another great option for Christmas films for the family! Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis set out to skip Christmas, but have to rush at the very last minute when their daughter changes her plans.

The Holiday

Another one of those movies that absolutely just drags my feelings out! I can definitely relate to the characters in wanting to escape life for a while, and it doesn’t really have to be a Christmas film. It is amazing all year round! I love the storyline, and it gets better as I get older! Sometimes switching our scenery is the best thing we can do, and who knows what amazing things might happen when we do!

Four Christmases

Okay, this seems like a really underrated Christmas movie! I never hear anyone talk about it, and the majority of people have never seen it! Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon usually skip hanging out with their families on Christmas and go on vacation. Due to a freak weather issue, all flights are canceled, and they have to visit four different families for Christmas!
