Having the best skin day ever starts while you sleep!
Are you looking to have the best skin day ever? I know that most of us think that the only way we can have great skin is by using expensive skincare, and drinking enough water to fill an ocean, right? Wrong! What happens while we sleep actually has so much to do with how skin. While a healthy diet is definitely a killer way to get amazing skin, there are some small things that you can do as well! Changing your pillowcase is way more important than you could ever imagine! Just think about how dirty the air is outside, even if you wash your face religiously, you still are going to have some dirt leftover. Additionally, think about what your hair goes through each day! As soon as your skin touches that pillow, any of the dirt from your hair is left over.
I’m not saying that you need to change your pillowcase every single day, but at least once a week! During college, I definitely did not change out my pillowcase, and I had some of the worst skin of my life. Plus, if you have a dog that sleeps in your bed like me, you seriously need to change your sheets often! No matter how adorable your pup is. Another great tip is to purchase a humidifier! This is going to help your skin stay hydrated, and can help protect you from these colder months as well. I don’t know about you, but the heating in my house definitely can dry out my sinuses. A humidifier will ensure that you have best skin day ever!
Your skincare routine really does make a difference!
When it comes to your best skin day ever, you need to make sure that you are taking care of it. Skincare is actually my guilty pleasure, and I cannot get enough of it. Most of my beauty cabinet is skincare! When it comes to finding what you consider is your ideal skincare routine, it will be different for everyone. I highly suggest a moisturizer, cleanser, toner, and a serum! My skincare routine changes pretty frequently, but there are a couple of times that it does change.
My Current Skincare Routine:
- Tatcha The Water Cream: If you are looking for an amazing moisturizer, then this is the one you need, hands down! It really hydrates my skin, and never causes me to breakout.
- Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser: Once again, this is a product that rarely changes for me. Ever since I first tried this, I have not used any other cleanser. It is gentle on my skin, but cleanses it from literally everything. It also is super affordable which is amazing! Read my full review here!
- Thayers Witch Hazel: I typically just get mine at Target, but this is the ultimate product if you have occasional breakouts. I can put this on any blemish that I have, and it is gone in about a day. It’s also really affordable! I use mine all over my skin, and rarely have breakouts now!
- The Ordinary “The Buffet”: When The Ordinary first hit the market, it was all anyone could talk about. I’ve been using The Buffet since then, and have had great results with it. Once again, it is so affordable for how great the product is! If you are looking for info about The Ordinary, read this post!
Understand how your rest impacts your best skin day ever
For most people, it seems like there just isn’t enough time in the day. I always hear from friends and family that they don’t have time for any sort of pampering because they just don’t have time. Knowing that you need to get a good amount of rest is the most important thing that anyone can take away from this blog post. Even if you work late, and get up early, there are still ways to improve your sleep. Get a mattress topper, some amazing pillows, and that can do wonders. If you can get into the habit of going to sleep at an earlier time, that will also have a huge impact.
For me, I can tell when I don’t get enough sleep. I can literally see the difference in being well rested versus not. In the same tone of this, if you are smoking or drinking, that will ruin your skin as well. I’m not saying that you can never have a margarita again, but make sure that you are staying hydrated, and never over do it! Alcohol will strip the moisture out of your skin, and it won’t matter how much water you drink.
