Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection
So, you’re going to see a lot of Too Faced reviews coming up with the holidays fast approaching. The Too Faced Tutti Frutti Collection was something that I actually had not heard about until I was browsing Ulta a few weeks ago. What initially drew me in was the fun packaging, and what seemed to be really cute products. Too Faced is one of my favorite brands, and I actually love the scented products most of the time. Since I was really unsure about this collection, I decided to start out with two of the products that interested me the most. I’ll go ahead and let you know that I actually won’t be purchasing any thing else from this collection, and here is why…
Too Faced Tutti Frutti It’s Bananas Setting Powder
This really excited me when I first saw it. I know that banana powders are amazing for brightening and setting your makeup. The idea that it was in a pressed powder seemed more manageable than the loose powders that I had seen. What I will say about the Too Faced Tutti Frutti It’s Bananas is that the smell is not overwhelming, and is something that I can wear on my face. What I hate about this product is how difficult it is to use. Maybe the powder is pressed too firmly, but I get almost nothing when I use my brush or beauty sponge. The times I have been able to get some product, it did exactly what I wanted it to do. It seemed to have some brightening properties, but the effort just is not worth it to me.
Too Faced Tutti Frutti Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo
I’m not usually a blush kind of gal, but with cooler weather approaching, I know that I’m going to need some color in my face. I absolutely love the packaging of this collection, and it really stands out among my other makeup products. Unfortunately, I had issues with this product as well. The highlighter aspect of this was really beautiful, and rivals some of my favorite highlighters. The bad part of this was definitely the blush. The Too Faced Tutti Frutti Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo in Apricot seemed like the perfect color for the upcoming season. Maybe this powder is also pressed too firmly, but the payoff was not as great as the highlighter. It seemed quite sheer, even after multiple attempts at use and swatching.
While the packaging and concept are super cute, I was overall unhappy with my purchases. As I’ve mentioned before, pretty much everything I review on here is out of my own pocket. Therefore, I try and be careful to only choose products that I really love, or have a true interest in. I love the concept of each of the products, but the execution was not up to the standard that I have for Too Faced products. I’ve seen some swatches of other products which seem great, so I could have just gotten a bad set. There are some products coming out that I love from Too Faced right now, so in my opinion, wait for the new releases!
